This is one of my favorite folds! Its called a book binding fold! 

You start with a piece of cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 and score it at 4 1/4 and again at 5 1/2 . I could not find the right piece of dsp for the background on my pale papaya card stock, so I took one of my Texture chic  Memories and More Cards and envelopes ( page 136 in the anual catalog ) and cut it to 4 x 4 and 1 x 4 .

The stamp set is from the July-Dec catalog, I combined 2 sets, Hello Harvest on page 50 and Kindest Gnomes on page 43. The ribbon is Early Expresso Faux Suede trim on page 145, and the open leaf trinket can be found on page 83 of the July - Dec catalog. I colored the cute little gnome with my blends, and had a good time doing so!

Here are a few more of the "stretch gate fold" I showed you the other day! I would be happy to show you how and share the directions, just let me know! I used the Rustic Harvest Suite for the first card. It can be found on page 48-50 of the July to Dec catalog. ( I CASED) this card from France Martin. She is so talented! 

For this card I used the Bewitching Bundle and the Best wishes stamp set found on pg 55 and pg 57 of the same catalog. The designer Series paper is from the Gingham Cottage Suite on pgs 58-59 in that catalog.

 I got out my Merry Merlot cardstock and ink, which hasn't been used in a while! I also played with a new corner punch.   The stamp set I used was Lovely and Lasting, from the anual catalog. 

  I used my Merry Merlot stamp n write marker and my shaded spruce marker to "color the stamp" and then stamped the image. 

The punch is Very Best Trio punch. It is on page 68 of the July -Dec catalog.

I think this is called a double gate fold! France Martin and other Stampin Up! Demos have had them on their blogs, so I gave it try.  They are relatively easy an I sure have enjoyed making them. If you would like the directions leave me a comment and I will share them with you.

I made this one for my family in Upstate Western NY, I 'm sure they will like it! I made some fall ones, a Halloween one and I have idea for some for Christmas.

Here are a couple of cards I did for a challenge. They were pieces I had laying around on my messy desk. I don't think my desk is ever not messy.... except for when I HAVE to clean if off for classes! Are you a messy creator , or are you organized? Not me, it seems my best cards come from Kaos! I hope my ideas inspire you to do some stamping soon. Send a card to someone for no reason... brighten their day. You never know what a thinking of you card can do for someone!  Greetings my Friends!

 Do you have a pet that likes to help you? 

This little  sweetheart has been keeping me on my toes! She is such a helper...(.NOT!) I can't tell the number of messes she has made, while trying to be my best helper!

Its a good thing she is cute! 

Here are a few cards I did manage to make while avoiding the "Beast" as my hubby calls her! 

This was a challenge card for my upline Julie ... I don't usually do the challenges but I had these pieces on my desk and they just "fell" into place! 

 These are note cards and a sweet box to hold them! I think it would make a great hostess gift at Thanksgiving time! Thank You Mary Knabe for the ideas and directions! 

And last but not least Its halloween time again, time for the "cutesy" Halloween as I am not big into spooky things! 

Lilo Kitten is sleeping so I will now go clean up "our" mess, so she can help me again later!

back to basics

My attempt at making a back to basics video. Please ignore the speech pattern in the beginning.  I knew what I wanted to say I just couldn't make the words come out. But here we go. I hope this helps some of you just starting out. The next video will talk more about adding layers and adding stamps. But today was just about how to get your cardstock started.

I am home! And very happy to be here! Here are a few more pictures from our last evening together in New Orleans! We had such a great time! Now that I am home I promise no more NOLA pictures!

 Its very early here in NOLA! Going home today! So much fun and information packed into these past few days! I am going home exhausted but so fun of memories and I have so many new ideas to help my Stampin Up! business grow! We ended last night with  a parade in the French Quarter, and WE were the parade! Such fun! There were bands, and jesters and beads and parasols and masks and JOY! I smiled for 2 hours straight!

 Hello from NOLA!  I am here in New Orleans at a Stampin Up! Leaders event! I am having a good time and learning so much! I find New Orleans to be very polite, at least so far every local I have met has been happy and kind and polite!! (but to be fair I 've only been on Canal Street and at the hotel here in the French Quarter)  . I will share a few silly photos from yesterday and today. We are having a real good time! I am here with my upline Susan. She is in the pictures with me! I may not be able to get to my blog tomorrow, as it a very full day for us and there is a special activity tomorrow evening. We will fly home on Sunday, so I will most likely be back to my blog again on Monday! Here is some of the fun....

 Remember those round Stampin Up! trash bins?? I use mine all the time! Here is a warning for you , Kittens can fit in them! LOL 

During class Lilo got curious and jumped into the bin I had clipped to the table, the weight of her made it fall to fhe floor. Lilo thought that was great fun, and did it twice!  The second time I just left it on the floor.  She had a grand time playing with pieces of card stock. She played so hard she fell asleep! How cute is that? My friend Deb took this picture. We thought it was so funny that the Thank You was by her butt, like she was saying thanks for the new toys!

I just love this little skunk ! Here are some cards I made using other papers and card stock. After I made the kit cards I wanted more skunky cards! I am in love with this little stinker.
