When I first got my Mosaic Mood DSP I just loved the colors and feel to it. Some of the images are clear embossed and they just shine! And then I went to cut it... What was I going to do with it?? I think I sat and stared for the longest time... imagine, being intimidated by a piece of paper!!  That is when I went to my catalog and thought, well, what did Stampin'Up! do with it?? Okay.. pg 118 of the current catalog has some great pictures and ideas... I got as far as the top left picture shown here... from there I had fun just cutting the humming birds out of the dsp and using different embossing folders.  Each card took on its own personality and it seemed like ALL my embossing folders worked well well with the dsp, as well as many different color combos! I just looked at the back of my DSP package and pulled one of every color listed and went form there! Some I put greetings on and some I left blank.. Not every card needs a greeting , right?? Sometimes you just want write a quick note .. or sometimes you need to add a greeting later for your needs.. I think any of these would be good for almost any occasion, even sympathy! I also used some flower faceted gems on them, little flowers for the birds to enjoy! Moral of this story?? When in doubt or in a slump?  .. go to your catalog and get some inspiration there!

Come Sail Away Memories and More Card Pack by Stampin' Up!

Jan came over on Friday to make Dads N Grads cards. These were not what we started out to do! The light houses were happy accidents !

The back side said Happy Fathers Day.  We were going to use them for Fathers day... but when we saw how perfectly the lighthouses were cut out, we quickly changed our mind! A Happy Accident! They are from the  Come sail away memories and more card pack . Item # 149552 and cost 11.00 ! These cards are great for card making... most of the work is done for you! If you are memory keeper/scrapbook-er there are all kinds of cards to make your memory keeping so much easier! I love lined cards, I can just write a brief note about my picture or use the larger lined cards when I have a lot to say!

 The background paper is # 149481 11.50 come sail away designer series paper  and co ordinates so well with the stamp set, and the memories and more card pack.  Stay tuned for more from this suite! 

I love Daisy flowers! They remind me of my childhood when I would pick countless bouquets of wild daisies and color them with food coloring drops in the water. So when I saw there was new stamp set and new smaller punch to go with our bigger punch I got excited!

  How fun are these silhouettes? The purple posy one with the little girl  was made by me. The blue one was made by my friend Sue Chall in my stamp class at church. I like the way she flagged her sentiment.. and of course the boy had to be in seaside spray! 

I thought that these might also make good Graduation cards for most of our graduates from Kindergarten to College as the  sentiment from Strong and Beautiful  says " Keep reaching for your dreams and I will keep cheering you on!"  We all have dreams , esp those just starting out... We used black memento ink on our "kids" but wouldn't they be cute embossed in black??

When I was going thru the catalog the graduation cap in the stamp set I Say Hello caught my eye. I knew I had several grad cards to make this year and that cap was going to come in handy! I knew I was going to need a purple card and what better purple than Gorgeous Grape? Such a rich purple.. One of my favorite colors. EN Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Servies Paper

I just love all the new Designer Series Papers (or aka DSP ) !(Click on the blue letters above to see the video) This Mosaic Mood  paper is vibrant! Its textured, you have to feel it to believe it! Pictures just don't do it justice! I have not made a card with it yet as I have been busy with other projects but it sure is on my list of "Gonna's" ( You know Gonna do it soon)  

It looks like another rainy day here in SE Michigan.. so it looks like yard work will have to wait another day!

Sailing Home! 

This new Catalog has my head spinning with so many great stamp sets to choose from !  We made "Sparkly Water"  to put our boats on! We cut our Glimmer paper to 3 x 3 . Then we took a spritzer  filled it with household rubbing alcohol.. and added about 10 or so drops of reinker. I used Blueberry bushel, but you could use any color you wanted.  This was actually a very simple card to do... and my ladies today thought it would make a good Graduation card! 

 That's what going on here in Barb's Toadally Inked Pad.. Stay tuned for more projects ... You never know what might be next!!

Take Your Pick Die Brush

I am begining to wonder if it will EVER stop raining in Southeastern Michigan!  One good thing I can spend more time inside creating with all my new stamps and dies! Take a look at this attachment for the "Take your Pick " tool! This sure will make die cutting a LOT easier! I like that you can attach it to a tool you already own! I already own 2 tools so I will attach this new brush to one end of one and the "pokey tool" to the other end and keep it next to my die cutting machine and I will be ready to rock and roll!

Project Recipe:

1. Before putting dsp onto Mossy Meadow card stock punch out one Timeless Label Punch from center of 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 cardstock . Cut this in half lengthwise
2. Adhere 3x4 Magnolia Lane Dsp to 31/4 x 41/4 Mossy Meadow card stock.
3. take a 51/2" of Magnolia lane Vanilla Ribbon and adhere ends to back of card.
4. stamp sentiment and cut out with timeless label punch.
5. put white label ontop of mossy meadow leaving just a small boarder around your white piece.
6. using dimensionals adhere greeting to card . using mossy meadow twine from Magnolia Lane ribbon combo pack tie a bow around the vanilla ribbon.
